This is one of the most beautiful moth we’d ever seen, and we’ve only seen it once. It is in the Owl Moth Family. The moth is dark brown in colour with shiny blue green. There are the eyespot marks on both forewings. There is the board white strip across the forewings and hind wings. There are the zigzag patterns along the wing bases.  In Jan 2008, we saw this large spectacular moth in Karawatha Forest She-Oak area of Brisbane, Australia. It was resting near the base of a large but dead tree trunk. We only found this moth once. Wingspan 60mm  SourceOther posts:
Rothschilda Moth
Garden Tiger Moth
Sino Korean Owl Moth

I would pay good money for custom jewellry/clothes based on this moth’s colouring and patterns. Utterly beautiful.

Marco Mazzoni is an incredibly talented artist who lives and works in Milan, Italy. He creates beautiful, eerie compositions using coloured pencils. The subject of his pieces is always a face crowned with various flora and fauna. Oftentimes the face is eyeless, and the effect on the viewer ranges from serene to disturbing, depending on the composition.

Incredible. Coloured pencil was always my favourite medium. Couldn’t find many artists working in it though.
